Overview
Dot Format is a desktop file converter application built by F9 Apps. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect (very little) and how we handle it.
Local File Processing
All file conversions are performed entirely on your device. Your files are never uploaded, transmitted, or sent to any server or third-party service. No file content ever leaves your machine — not even temporarily. The conversion engines run 100% locally using bundled libraries (Sharp, FFmpeg, Calibre, Pandoc, 7-Zip).
Crash & Error Reporting
The desktop app uses Sentry for error and crash reporting. When an error occurs, Sentry may send technical diagnostic data including stack traces, operating system version, and app version. This data helps us identify and fix bugs. Sentry never receives your file names, file contents, conversion history, or any personal data.
Website
The dot-format.com website is a static landing page. It does not use analytics, cookies, tracking pixels, or any form of user tracking. No personal information is collected through the website.
User Accounts
Dot Format does not require or offer user accounts. There are no signups, no login, and no email collection. We do not collect, store, or process any personal information such as names, email addresses, or payment details.
Third-Party Services
The only third-party service used is Sentry (sentry.io) for crash reporting in the desktop application, as described above. No other third-party services receive data from the app or the website.
Data Storage
No user data is stored on any external server. Your conversion history, app preferences, and settings are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted. You can clear this local data at any time from within the app.
App Updates
The desktop app checks for updates through a secure connection. Only the app version is sent during this process — no personal or file data is shared.
Children's Privacy
Because Dot Format does not collect any personal data from any user, it does not knowingly or unknowingly collect data from children. The app is safe for users of all ages.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Since we do not collect contact information, we cannot notify users directly — please check this page periodically.
